It’s Who We Are

It is with great excitement that I write to you in my inaugural President’s Letter. The opportunities that lie ahead for NCA and our country’s private clubs are tremendous, and I am honored to be leading NCA in this crucial time as we work with our members and allies to advance our industry.

In the current legislative and regulatory climate, NCA’s lobbying efforts have become particularly critical in protecting the future of private clubs, as well as presenting powerful opportunities for industry growth. NCA is working on several key new initiatives to amplify our advocacy work, including an important new focus on growing ClubPAC. ClubPAC is NCA’s political action committee that enables us to support the congressional representatives that support private clubs. We are grateful to those who have donated already and/or signed permission forms for funding solicitation. NCA is also developing new avenues for club leaders to more easily understand and address arising legislative and regulatory opportunities and challenges.

Of course, beyond our advocacy role, NCA is always working to provide insightful educational resources to help clubs achieve better success through informed leadership. We have recently added to our governance education resources by launching the Club Governance Standards white paper series. The series is a product of the NCA Board Leadership Institute, which is funded by the NCA Foundation and Global Golf Advisors, and we are thrilled to have been able to provide this publication to our club members as a benefit of membership. A very special thanks to all who continue to support the NCA Foundation—you are making a difference.

You can see, great things are happening at NCA and we have many more exciting plans for 2016. Please feel free to reach out to me or other NCA staff if we can be of assistance. There is nothing I love more than talking about NCA and engaging the members of our community. We have a great story to tell that is getting better each day. I look forward to seeing you at upcoming industry shows, including NCA’s National Club Conference in Chicago in May.
