NCA Monthly: May

NCA Monthly

It’s been a busy spring at NCA! Members gathered at the 2024 National Club Conference in Frisco, Texas, in late April for best-in-class networking, education sessions, exhibitor showcase, mind-blowing tour of Middlby Innovation Kitchens and lots of fun on and off the golf courses. Look for a full wrap-up in the upcoming summer issue of Club Director.

Seth Waugh, PGA of America CEO, joined NCA’s Joe Trauger for an
informative and engaging conversation at NCC24.

The Association also welcomed new officers and members to its Board of Directorsand celebrated the recipients of this years Excellence in Club Management® Awards; the awards are sponsored by McMahon Group and NCA.

Several legislative and regulatory issues that affect clubs saw motion this month. NCA launched a new series of issue backgrounders on the website—these are regularly updated and offer everything clubs need to know about Congressional and regulatory action in play.

NCA President & CEO Joe Trauger traveled to the Detroit Athletic Club and the Country Club of Virginia to present ECM awards at celebrations with those clubs’ memberships in May.

He also participated in National Golf Day with Hill visits to the Virginia delegation and spoke with Golf Caucus Co-chairs Reps. Jimmy Panetta (D-Calif.) and Richard Hudson (R-N.C.).

NCA issued a member alert on the final overtime rule from the Department of Labor. Last month, we shared club-specific regulatory and legislative news in the Washington Weekly Update: May 6May 13May 20; and May 28
