Inaugural conference will convene leaders from private clubs that host and hope to host elite golf tournaments.

For the first time, the National Club Association will convene leaders from clubs that host and hope to host golf championships for a day of collaboration, networking and information sharing during the Championship Club Conference, Nov. 13. Bringing together club presidents, board members, general managers and staff, the one-day event at Army Navy Country Club, Arlington, Va., boasts an impressive panel of top experts on hosting PGA Tour, LPGA Tour, USGA, Korn Ferry, Epson or other league golf events and qualifiers.

Speakers include:

Colin Burns, Apogee Golf, formerly Winged Foot Golf Club.

Kevin Bozada, Augusta National Golf Club.

Jeffrey Kreafle, Congressional Country Club.

Robbie Zalzneck, formerly USGA.

“Club board members and management have a lot to consider before deciding to host and actually hosting a championship at any level. The Championship Club Conference offers an opportunity to discuss the entire tournament experience through information sharing, networking and collaboration among leaders of some of the country’s top private clubs,” says NCA President & CEO Joe Trauger. “Hosting a major golf event has both challenges and myriad rewards, and we’ll talk about all of them with people who’ve spearheaded them before.”

Limited the first 100 qualified registrants (NCA membership is not required to attend), the Championship Club Conference includes lunch and a cocktail receiption designed to expand attendees’ professional networks with new contacts in the championship tournament space. Sessions include:

Preparing Your Club, Members, Board and Staff to Host a Championship.

Player Experience.

Patron Experience and Service Excellence.

Community Engagement in Support of Event.

Cost to attend is $350 for the first registration and $250 for each additional registration from the same club, regardless of NCA membership status. Army Navy Country Club is conveniently located less than six miles from Reagan National Airport; the conference will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information and to register, visit nationalclub.org/ccc.
