(Washington, D.C., February 25, 2015) — Private club industry professionals will come together in Washington, D.C., May 3-5, at The Westin DC City Center for the National Club Association’s twelfth annual National Club Conference. The National Club Association’s premier event convenes industry leaders for educational programming on topics impacting private clubs across the country.
Programming will focus on three key themes: Strategic Issues for Private Club Governance; The Club Industry Outlook and Trends for the Future; and Legislative, Regulatory and Legal Issues for Clubs.

Learn new ways to build support for a club’s strategic plan and how to use it effectively to ensure that your club stays on track in pursuit of its mission and goals.
Succession Planning for Club Executives
This presentation provides an overview of the steps that a club should consider to ensure that it is prepared for a change in the chief staff position and other key personnel.
Technology Outlook for Private Clubs: Ways to Maximize Your Club’s Investments
What’s on the horizon for technology innovation in the private club industry and what are some creative solutions being used today? These and many other questions regarding technology’s impact on the club industry will be answered during this discussion.
Cyber Security Concerns
Concerns about cyber attacks, attacks on corporate networks and theft of member information are growing issues for private clubs. This program will discuss technology security, risk management and crisis communications, including case studies of private clubs that have been hit by attacks, and ways to add protections for information security liability.
Fitness and Wellness Trends for Clubs: Keys to Future SuccessThis program highlights the evolving nature of both facilities and programs with options that will appeal to club members of all ages in years to come and demonstrate the importance of integrating these programs with other areas of club services.
Legal Issues Confronting Private Clubs
Whether it’s membership policies, operational matters, employment law questions or dealing with errant golf balls, clubs are often confronted with issues that could have a significant impact on potential liability and how they operate. This program will involve a panel of legal experts to analyze developments in the many potential liability areas that can arise from club operations. It will also explain proactive measures clubs can take to protect themselves, how clubs can benefit from using alternative dispute resolution and issues that can be critical to protecting the club’s private status.
Alphabet Soup: Dealing with the Agencies of the Federal Government
Federal regulatory agencies have a significant impact on the operations of a private club. Get an inside perspective on what several Congressional Committees are doing to reign in key agencies and regulations like the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), the Department of Labor (DOL), and the implementation of the health care law (ACA).
Legislative Update: The Changing Landscape and What You Need to Know
Find out the latest from Capitol Hill and what it means to private clubs. A key element of this program will focus on the Affordable Care Act and the steps clubs are taking to deal with its challenges.
