NCA Monthly
NCA welcomed fall this month, and with elections just more than a month away, kept a close eye on legislative and regulatory actions that may affect private clubs. The association also shared its Hurricane Readiness resource for clubs in the path of Hurricane Helene, which devastated North and South Carolina. Clubs in those areas remain in our thoughts and we encourage them to reach out for support.
NCA President & CEO Joe Trauger joined leaders from CMAA and Club Benchmarking to share results of the three organizations’ club industry economic study at the CMAA Leadership/Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C. He also traveled to Riviera Country Club to present Mark Snure, ECM, with the 2024 Mead Grady Award, part of the Excellence in Club Management® Awards, sponsored by NCA and McMahon Group.
Later in the month, Joe and NCA Director of Director of Events, Technology & Member Engagement John Good visited the New York Athletic Club and University Club of New York, among other destinations, planning for the 2025 National Club Conference, April 27-28 in New York City (mark your calendar!).
NCA will publish a regulatory tracker, summarizing in-play legislative and regulatory actions that may affect private clubs, in the fall issue of Club Director.Brief backgrounders on regulatory actions and legislation NCA is monitoring are available to members anytime at nationalclub.org.
The Washington Weekly Update, which keeps members up to date on all legislative and regulatory moves that may affect private clubs, was sent to members Sept. 3 Sept. 9, Sept. 16, and Sept. 23.
