With a seemingly always-changing political landscape, regulatory movement and issues affecting private clubs in play, the National Club Association had a busy July.
President & CEO Joe Trauger presented to the CMAA/KOPPLIN KUEBLER & WALLACE Governance and Leadership Symposium in early July. Later in the month, he met with the deputy director of the Federal Trade Commission for a conversation on the agency’s proposed rule on junk fees and the perspective of private clubs. He was also quoted in the Buffalo Business First (Business Journals subscription required) in a feature on country club revenue trends.
Club Director, NCA’s flagship magazine, was honored with an APEX Award for Publication Excellence for its fall 2023 feature on how summer-facing clubs engage members in the winter (members: use your email address to sign in). This marks the second year in a row Club Director has won recognition in the APEX competition.
NCA updated its issue backgrounders on changes to the federal overtime law and OSHA rulemaking on the federal heat standard. Members also received an alert about the U.S. District Court granting a temporary injunction of the overtime rule.
The Washington Weekly Update, which keeps members up to date on all legislative and regulatory moves that may affect private clubs, was sent to members on July 8, July 22 and July 29.
NCA’s robust schedule of webcasts continues to grow with many events on relevant topics on the calendar for this summer; members can access full recordings by visiting the event calendar at nationalclub.org.
