Gerry Hunsicker
 
MLB Executive and Former General Manager, Houston Astros
 
Gerry Hunsicker is a longtime baseball operations executive whose career spanned more than five decades across college athletics, player development, scouting and major league front-office leadership.
 
Gerry was named senior advisor of baseball operations by the Los Angeles Dodgers in October 2012 and served in that role until his retirement after the 2020 season, when the Dodgers won the World Series. His role included assisting international scouting and development, professional scouting and minor league development.
 
He was senior vice president with the Tampa Bay Rays from 2005 through 2012, where he he refocused Tampa Bays international scouting efforts, helped establish academies in both the Dominican Republic and Venezuela, and contributed to the clubs expanded international presence in Colombia, Brazil, Asia, and Europe.
 
He served with the Houston Astros as general manager and advisor from 1995 through the 2005 season. During his time with the team, the Astros posted a 793–665 record, reached the postseason five times, won four division titles, and set a franchise record with 102 wins in 1998. The organizations core during that period included Craig Biggio, Jeff Bagwell, Lance Berkman, Brad Ausmus, Roy Oswalt, Andy Pettitte, and Roger Clemens, a group that helped Houston capture the National League title and reach the World Series in 2005. Gerry was named The Sporting News Executive of the Year in 1998,
 
He is a member of the St. Josephs Baseball and Athletic Halls of Fame, the Texas Baseball Hall of Fame, and the Montco Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame. He is also the recipient of the Torch Award from Florida International University as a distinguished alumnus.
 
Gerry earned his bachelors degree from St. Josephs University, where he played baseball and was named to the All-Mid-Atlantic Conference team. He later earned a masters degree from Florida International University.
