NCA Monthly: July 2025

Private clubs are midway through a busy summer, and the National Club Association office is right there with them.

President & CEO Joe Trauger enjoyed a visit with Neil Hampton, general manager of Royal Dornoch Golf Club, while on vacation (and the golf course) in Scotland—a true highlight of his trip! They met again via Teams on July 31 to talk about governance issues in the U.K. vs. the U.S. Mr. Hampton was interested in the NCA/CMAA governance handbook and was provided a copy for review.

Mid-July, Trauger talked with with U.S. Rep. David Schweikert (R-Ariz.) about what's ahead for the Ways and Means Committee for the remainder of the year. And later in the month, he participated in the Mid-Atlantic Club Foundation Tournament in Elkridge, Md., and spoke during the CMAA Governance & Leadership Summit.

Members received an alert July 1 when the U.S. Senate passed President Trump's mega tax bill, and stayed up to date on legislative and other news through NCA publications throughout the month.

Keep an eye on your email this month! A new, signature event for private club leaders is soon to be announced from NCA and you won't want to miss it!

Have you downloaded your copy of the new, second edition of Private Club Governance: A Handbook of Principles and Best Practices?
