The first step toward enhancing the performance and value of your club is an objective and realistic assessment of the health of the club. This includes consideration of the club’s economics, culture and satisfaction level of the membership. In this session, Larry Hirsh identifies the tough questions that have to be asked and answered—accurately and objectively.
A reliable measurement of the health of any club includes taking a look at how decisions are made, the club’s competitive position and if the club has its fair share of the membership market—or too much. Is there high membership satisfaction and is the club financially healthy with ample capital reserves?
All these things must match the club’s culture and be positioned properly for success. We’ll identify some of the key measuring sticks clubs need to examine while avoiding emotional and biased conclusions.
