Club Safety Tip: Employee Safety Training and Education

Educating club employees on safety requirements should be a priority—and the following Federal OSHA list is mandatory for most clubs:

  • Emergency egress routes and roll call areas
  • Hazard communication training for the chemicals employees may encounter in the workplace
  • Personal Protective Equipment training on how to don/doff as well as how properly use, store and replace safety equipment
  • Respirator users have training and other requirements, including medical clearance, fit testing, cartridge change out schedules
  • Blood borne pathogen training for all who may come in contact with bodily fluids (housekeepers, maintenance, laundry, first responders, room attendants, life guards)
  • Lockout Tagout training is necessary if you do in-house electrical, hydraulic or other equipment maintenance

Do know the above require written policies as well as annual training records have to be maintained?
